Job Description & Requirements Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Phoenix, Arizona. Specialty: ED - Emergency Department Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/28/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Emergency Room (ER) Nurse position in Phoenix, Arizona. This role involves providing care in a busy Level 1 trauma center with a focus on trauma, burns, and pediatric patients transferred out. The ER team manages a high volume of patients and maintains a focus on sterile procedures, patient safety, and quality care in a fast‑paced environment. Job Details Schedule: 12-hour night shifts with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Shifts include four weekend shifts per month, with holiday coverage based on unit needs. Required Qualifications: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications; minimum of 2 years of ER experience; licensure to practice in the state of Arizona; willingness to submit license. Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) certifications; experience with Cerner electronic medical record system; ability to read Phillips monitors and interpret strips. Float: Float rotation may be required between the main ER and sister facilities within a 30-minute radius, including free-standing emergency departments. Additional Information: All applicants must pass a skills exam on day 1 of orientation, including sterile field maintenance and specific clinical skills such as Foley catheter insertion, central line dressing changes, lifts, restraints, and wound care. The hospital expects competency in these skills, which are performed frequently. The ER accommodates trauma, burn, and pediatric patients, with specific certification requirements for certain procedures.
