Travel Registered Nurse PCU/IMC/Stepdown

You will be working as an RN in a stepdown IMC/Tele unit with 30 beds, managing diverse patients including those with cardiac issues, CHF, and sepsis. This position offers night shifts with a guaranteed schedule of four 12-hour shifts per week.

Job Overview

• Shift: Nights, four 12-hour shifts per week, Monday to Thursday. No weekends.

About the Unit

• 30 beds available in the unit.
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1-4, may extend to 1-5 under certain circumstances.
• Common diagnoses include cardiac issues, NSTEMI, post-cath lab, atrial fibrillation, CHF, gastrointestinal bleed, detox, respiratory distress, and sepsis.
• RN's are required to titrate drips, including nitro, diltiazem, insulin, heparin, and amiodarone.
• Charge nurses take an assignment of 2 patients.
• There are nurse aides on the unit with ratios of 1-10/12 depending on census.
• Equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and Optiflow.
• Tele/monitor techs are available, and RNs are not required to read their own strips.
• The unit primarily uses GE monitors.
• Floating may be required to medical-surgical or IMC overflow in ICU.
• Unit-specific orientation lasts up to 3 days.
• Scrub color is navy blue.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role.
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA).
• Experience with IV nitroglycerin, heparin, diltiazem, and amiodarone is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

• Post-cath lab experience is beneficial.
• Arterial line experience is appreciated but not required.
