Job Title Construction Maint Tech II Agency 025 Oklahoma Military Department (Oklahoma Military Department) Job Type Full time, Regular, Full/Part-Time Compensation Starting Salary: $3,501.79 per month ($42,021.50 per year) Basic Purpose Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities related to the construction, maintenance, repair or upkeep of buildings, grounds or other state property, requiring no license. This may include assisting in the construction or renovation of buildings, general maintenance and upkeep of plumbing, heating, air conditioning, electrical and other systems, minor repairs to machinery or other equipment, and general maintenance of grounds or lawns. Typical Functions Perform carpentry work in construction or renovation of buildings or additions to existing structures; erect and maintain scaffolds, sheds, forms, frames, fences and other structures; alter and repair doors, floors, partitions, stairways, windows, screens, and other fixtures; fit and glaze glass in windows and doors; maintain and repair roofs. Install, replace, alter, maintain, and repair plumbing fixtures such as sinks, traps, faucets; make minor repairs to laundry, sterilization, kitchen equipment and other equipment using water, steam, air, or other feed line and waste disposal lines. Maintain and repair light fixtures, receptacles and switches; replace light bulbs; maintain generators and motors; oil and clean motors; troubleshoot and make electrical repairs not requiring a license; maintain and make minor repairs to heating, refrigeration and air‑conditioning equipment. Install and maintain locks and other security devices; repair or replace tumblers, springs and other parts; cut new or duplicate keys; use files, hand tools and special equipment to change combinations or shorten tumblers. Construct, maintain and repair concrete and other foundations; build retaining walls, walks, fireplaces, chimneys, stairways and similar projects; mix mortar and lay common brick, face brick, cinder brick, concrete block, stone, terra cotta or other materials. Operate, maintain and repair various types of equipment used in construction and maintenance of building and grounds, such as trucks, tractors, bulldozers, power shovels, cranes, forklifts, mowers and edgers. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of principles, methods, materials, fixtures, tools and equipment used in building and maintenance trades; knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Skill to use various tools and equipment; ability to maintain or repair various materials or equipment and to follow written and oral instructions. Education and Experience Four (4) years of experience in one or more of the building trades or equivalent combination of education and experience. Licenses / Certificates None. Physical Requirements Lifting/carrying a minimum of 40 pounds. Working in extreme weather conditions (over 95°F and below 20°F). Climbing ladders and stairs. Conditions of Employment 12‑month trial period. Contingent on a favorable background check. Contingent on passing a pre‑employment drug and alcohol screening. Considered essential personnel (work during inclement weather). Available to work if called in due to an emergency. Must maintain a valid driver’s license. Tier 1 security clearance. FLSA non‑exempt. Location This position is located at the Tulsa Air National Guard Base in Tulsa, OK. Travel Employee may be required to travel in and out of state with overnight stays. Travel may be required at the expense of the employee and must be reimbursed within 45 days of travel.
