Road Warrior Staffing is hiring experienced CDL A Intermodal Drivers in Savannah, GA, for port container freight serving local, short-haul, and Southeast regional routes. Both company-driver and owner-operator opportunities are available for qualified drivers looking for consistent freight and flexibility in the routes they run.

Drivers haul intermodal containers originating from the Port of Savannah, with opportunities throughout Georgia and the Southeast. Local drivers can return home daily, while regional drivers typically spend one or two nights away during the week and return home on weekends. Longer-distance routes may also be available for drivers interested in traveling beyond the Southeast.

This position offers no-touch freight, weekly pay, optional Saturday work, and consideration of driver route preferences. Daily start times and appointment schedules vary according to freight and customer requirements, so flexibility and communication with dispatch are essential.

Pay and Compensation
Company Drivers
Estimated earnings of $2,000–$2,500 per week.

Schedule and Home Time

Schedule

Monday through Friday.
Optional Saturday work.

Local and Short-Haul Routes

Local-only drivers return home daily.
Short-haul routes are generally three hours away or less.
Short-haul drivers should normally return home each night.
Traffic, detention, accidents, and unexpected operational delays may occasionally affect home time.

Southeast Regional Routes

Regional routes operate throughout:

Georgia
Florida
South Carolina
North Carolina
Alabama
Tennessee

Southeast regional drivers are generally home one or two nights during the week and on weekends.

Longer-distance routes may be available for drivers interested in traveling beyond the Southeast.

Driver route preferences are considered whenever possible. However, operational needs may occasionally require drivers to cover other areas.

Duties

Haul intermodal container freight originating from the Port of Savannah.
Complete assigned local, short-haul, Southeast regional, or available longer-distance routes.
Communicate with dispatch regarding load status, appointments, delays, and route changes.
Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
Maintain accurate driving logs, shipping documents, and required records.
Operate commercial vehicles safely and comply with DOT regulations, port procedures, and applicable safety requirements.
Follow customer and terminal procedures when picking up or delivering container freight.
Provide reliable, professional service to customers and transportation partners.
Maintain communication and flexibility as dispatch schedules and freight requirements change.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A).
At least 18 months of verifiable CDL A driving experience.
Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
Acceptable driving history and safety record.
Ability to pass required pre-employment background screening and drug testing.
Ability to meet applicable DOT, company, and insurance requirements.
Flexibility to accommodate changing dispatch times and delivery appointments.
Consistent communication with dispatch and a commitment to dependable service.

Preferred Experience

Previous port, drayage, or intermodal container-driving experience is helpful but not required.
