Associate Merchant – Role Overview An Associate Merchant is responsible for helping to manage the execution of seasonal assortments, acting as point person for cross‑functional business partners in production, marketing, design, allocation, and planning. They help to drive strategy for the categories they manage. The role includes building on‑trend omni‑assortments, market analysis, cross‑functional communication, inventory management, pricing, and sales analytics. Key Responsibilities Build an on‑trend omni‑assortment with channel‑specific strategies in mind. Initiate market and competitor analysis and stay on top of industry trends. Communicate changes to all cross‑functional partners – planning, production, design, and wholesale. Participate in store visits. Prepare and analyze omni‑selling recaps to drive business decisions and recommend optimizations for current sales and future plans. Partner with planning in pre‑season to plan and buy the department based on comprehensive analysis of business data (last‑year results, current business, etc.). Participate in inventory management and control with planning and distribution teams. Collaborate on pricing and profit strategies – suggest promotions and markdowns to drive profitable gross‑margin results. Review new receipts against business trend to maximize sales and stock levels. Qualifications 3+ years of merchandising experience. Proficient in Excel. Demonstrated analytical and business skills. Salary Range $64,200.00 – $79,600.00 (base salary based on geographic region, internal equity, and candidate qualifications).
