Job Summary:

The Clinical Resource Unit (Float pool) is dedicated to providing exceptional care through a Nursing Professional Practice Model. This unit supports various inpatient units, including Medical-Oncology, Surgical-Orthopedic, Cardiovascular Care Unit, Progressive Care Unit, Mental Health Unit, and Acute Rehab. Nurses in this unit deliver specialized medical and nursing care, utilizing advanced technology and equipment. The environment is fast-paced, dynamic, and focused on collaboration with interdisciplinary team members and physician partners to ensure high-quality patient care.

Required Qualifications:

• Ability to float to multiple units and provide care to diverse patient populations.
• Skill in managing care for acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients.
• Proficiency in developing, implementing, and modifying patient care plans.
• Expertise in medication administration and evaluating medication effects.
• Experience in preparing patients for procedures and managing post-operative care.
• Skill in IV venipuncture and blood administration.
• Ability to document care accurately using EMR.
• Capability to educate patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions.
• Competence in providing constructive feedback and assisting in professional development of peers.
• Strong conflict management skills and professional communication with team members.
• Critical thinking skills to assess patient status and take appropriate action.
• Effective collaboration with interdisciplinary team members.
• Commitment to patient safety and adherence to safety standards, including fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, and ambulation safety.
• Ability to complete patient bedside shift reports, hourly rounding, and maintain updated patient communication boards.
• Skill in delegating tasks appropriately and following up on delegated tasks.

Required Education:

• College diploma in nursing.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• BLS (AHA).
• IL Nursing License.
