Position Description Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Walnut Creek, CA — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. Compensation and Benefits Weekly pay: $2,100+ per week Top 10% of drivers at this location earn $120,000+ annually Hourly base pay: $28.00 per hour plus an additional $1 for every 3 certifications/endorsements Overtime paid after 40 hours Hours per week: 40+ hours Per diem: $50.00 per night for overnight stops Paid travel Tenure bonus: $1,000 each year with the company (Nov. 1 to Oct. 31) Paid training Schedule: Monday – Friday (must be flexible) Route and Equipment Deliver SOLO To: Western 11 states Route type: Regional OTR Tractor type: Day cab or Sleeper, Straight Truck Trailer types: Dry Van, Reefer, Flatbed (28’, 48’, 53’) Equipment: Electric pallet jack Flatbed experience required: 6–9 months Doubles experience required: 3 months Able to accept automatic restrictions Freight: Combination of touch and no-touch freight Responsibilities Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards; maintain accurate records and logs Load/unload freight or assist in loading/unloading as required by customer Perform other duties as assigned Requirements Minimum 21 years of age Pass a Ryder drug test Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years Pass a DOT physical Pass a Ryder road test Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor‑trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months experience within the past 3 years 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures Benefits Medical, dental & vision after 30 days 80 hours paid time off in first year (use it or get paid) Uniforms, cell phone & boot allowance provided Drivers are the captain — you make safety decisions and your job is protected 401(k) rollover available now + company match at 1 year 12 weeks paid maternity leave (subject to eligibility and work tenure) Employee discounts on tools, vehicles, travel, tech and more Additional Information Trucks are three years or newer.
