Student Internship Program for Summer 2026
The City of Santa Clara and Mission College are partnering for a Student Internship Program for Summer 2026. The City is looking for Student Intern II's to perform work in various departments Citywide. As part of this program, Student Intern II's are required to be currently enrolled in Mission College (proof of enrollment will be required). The 2026 Summer Internship Program will run from June 2026 - August 2026.
The following departments are seeking interns:
- Department of Public Works: The City of Santa Clara Department of Public Works/Traffic Engineering Division is currently seeking one (1) engineering intern. This position is a great opportunity for students who are seeking experience in the field of Civil/Traffic Engineering. The position will provide the student with diverse job responsibilities including a variety of tasks and projects. The hours are part-time, within the hours of 8 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday.
- Finance Department: This position is on the Municipal Services Division Team and will support the Customer Service and Utility Billing teams.
- Human Resources Department: The Human Resources Department is recruiting for up to two (2) interns. One intern will work in the Recruitment/Selection, Classification/Compensation Division and the second in the Benefits/HRIS Division.
- Library Department: Internship opportunity available in Youth Services, Bookmobile, Adult Services, and Northside Branch.
- Silicon Valley Power/Electric Department: The Department is looking to fill 2 positions in the system support group.
- Water and Sewer Utilities Department: The Department is seeking to fill two intern positions - one in the Engineering Division and the second in the Compliance Division.
