Position Overview
Springwells of Hope Counseling Services is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-time Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team. This position offers the unique opportunity to work remotely while providing impactful therapy to a diverse client base within a supportive outpatient environment. As a Mental Health Counselor, you will play a critical role in enhancing the mental well-being of our patients through culturally sensitive, evidence-based practices.

Work Environment
In this fully remote role, you will enjoy a flexible work setting that allows for a healthy work-life balance. The core working hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with some flexibility to accommodate the diverse needs of our patients. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including psychiatrists and psychologists, to provide comprehensive care tailored to each individual's needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments that respect and understand each patient’s cultural background, facilitating the development of personalized treatment plans.
- Implement tailored therapeutic interventions drawing from evidence-based practices to ensure effective treatment outcomes.
- Provide engaging individual, family, and group therapy sessions that respond to the specific needs of patients, fostering resilience and emotional well-being.
- Effectively collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, ensuring that care provided is holistic and well-coordinated.
- Offer immediate crisis intervention and crisis management strategies to support patients experiencing acute mental health emergencies.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, empowering them with knowledge regarding treatment options and available community resources.
- Maintain meticulous and confidential patient records in compliance with ethical guidelines and legal standards.
- Actively participate in team meetings, case conferences, and ongoing cultural competency training sessions to enhance service delivery.
- Stay updated on mental health research, therapeutic methodologies, and cultural considerations that inform best practices in treatment.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your work will primarily focus on serving a diverse clientele, enriching your ability to understand and address the unique challenges faced by ethnic minorities, LGBTQ+ individuals, and immigrants. Each session you conduct will allow you to contribute directly to the health and stability of those who may otherwise feel marginalized or underserved in traditional therapeutic settings.
Qualifications
- A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Current and valid licensure as either an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.
- Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment approaches, particularly those that emphasize cultural competence.
- Experience providing individual and group therapy with a focus on inclusive and culturally responsive methodologies.
- Strong crisis intervention capabilities, with a proven ability to navigate high-pressure situations with composure.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills that foster rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and relevant computer applications to manage patient information effectively.
- A commitment to ethical practice, maintaining professional boundaries, confidentiality, and patient dignity.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment, enhancing the overall care provided to patients.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience working with culturally diverse client populations, particularly in outpatient settings.
- Knowledge of community resources and support systems beneficial for patients from various backgrounds.
- Engagement in ongoing professional development activities related to culturally competent practices in mental health.
Compensation and Benefits
The compensation for this role is competitive, with a salary range of USD 70,000 to 100,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
