Inventory Associate / Warehouse - Forklift Associate

Location: Van Horn, TX 79855
Pay Rate: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour (W-2)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM CST
Duration: 6+ Month Contract with potential for extension or permanent conversion based on performance

About the Role

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Inventory Associate / Warehouse - Forklift Associate to support fulfillment, warehouse, and inventory operations. This role involves receiving and processing shipments, operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate has hands-on warehouse experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory & Fulfillment Operations
  • Receive, unload, and process incoming shipments from carriers.
  • Inspect incoming materials and packages to verify condition and compliance with standard operating procedures.
  • Perform inventory counts, cycle counts, and inventory audits to maintain accuracy.
  • Support receiving, put-away, picking, kitting, packing, and shipping activities.
  • Maintain inventory integrity and ensure proper storage of materials.
Material Handling & Equipment Operation
  • Safely operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment, including:
    • Forklifts
    • Reach Trucks
    • Turret Trucks
    • Electronic Pallet Jacks (EPJs)
  • Transport materials, pallets, and inventory throughout the facility.
  • Follow all equipment operating procedures, safety protocols, and maintenance guidelines.
Quality & Documentation
  • Perform quality inspections and verify materials against operational requirements.
  • Accurately document receipts, inventory transactions, and work orders.
  • Utilize inventory management systems to enter and maintain accurate data.
  • Ensure proper labeling, identification, and traceability of inventory throughout the fulfillment process.
Packaging, Storage & Logistics
  • Determine and apply appropriate packaging methods for inventory and parts.
  • Package, wrap, stage, and secure materials for storage or shipment.
  • Assign inventory to proper storage locations and conduct storage audits.
  • Sort and stage materials to support efficient warehouse operations.
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify and escalate process issues, inventory discrepancies, and operational roadblocks.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts focused on safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in warehouse, fulfillment center, inventory, logistics, or receiving operations.
  • Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution environment.
  • Experience with inventory control, receiving, shipping, and material handling processes.
  • Ability to derive inventory requirements from Bills of Material (BOMs).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work in a technical environment.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills with the ability to identify issues and solve problems.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships and contribute to a collaborative team culture.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Warehouse, receiving, or inventory experience within the aerospace or automotive industry.
  • Experience operating Electronic Pallet Jacks (EPJs).
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or Inventory Management Systems.
  • Knowledge of cycle counting, inventory auditing, and quality control processes.
Safety Requirements

Safety is a top priority for this position. Candidates must:
  • Adhere to all workplace safety policies and procedures.
  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Safely operate forklifts and warehouse equipment.
  • Participate in required safety training programs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
