Senior Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant responsible for accounting, reporting, cash management, and administration of self-storage properties. The ideal candidate has a proven results-oriented background working with a startup or large organization. This position is hybrid with 3 days in office. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary $70,000 to $95,000 per year.
Responsibilities:

• Review and post monthly journal entries.
  
  
• Handle tenant receipts and revenue transactions.
  
  
• Oversee accounts receivable and prepare monthly allowance analysis.
  
  
• Ensure expenditures are correctly expensed or capitalized per company policy.
  
  
• Prepare journal entries for property acquisitions.
  
  
• Manage journal entries for debt acquisitions and related activities.
  
  
• Prepare draw requests.
  
  
• Review and reconcile trial balances.
  
  
• Conduct bank reconciliations.
  
  
• Prepare monthly financial statements for properties and perform variance analysis.
  
  

Requirements:

• Proficiency in Excel.
  
  
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  
  
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  
  
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  
  
• Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines without sacrificing accuracy.
  
  

Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  
  
• 3-5 years of accounting experience.
  
  
• Yardi experience is highly preferred.
