Senior Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant responsible for accounting, reporting, cash management, and administration of self-storage properties. The ideal candidate has a proven results-oriented background working with a startup or large organization. This position is hybrid with 3 days in office. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary $70,000 to $95,000 per year.
Responsibilities:
- Review and post monthly journal entries.
- Handle tenant receipts and revenue transactions.
- Oversee accounts receivable and prepare monthly allowance analysis.
- Ensure expenditures are correctly expensed or capitalized per company policy.
- Prepare journal entries for property acquisitions.
- Manage journal entries for debt acquisitions and related activities.
- Prepare draw requests.
- Review and reconcile trial balances.
- Conduct bank reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly financial statements for properties and perform variance analysis.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines without sacrificing accuracy.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of accounting experience.
- Yardi experience is highly preferred.
