Afternoon Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM

Position Overview


We are seeking an experienced Tooling Technician / Tool Maker to join the Tooling Team. This position will be responsible for building, repairing, modifying, and maintaining tooling and molds while supporting production schedules and preventative maintenance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Construct and repair aluminum tools and molds from rough casting through production-ready completion.
• Build and modify tools and molds according to blueprints and specifications.
• Operate machine shop equipment including lathes, milling machines, radial drills, and other tooling equipment.
• Perform aluminum and steel welding as needed.
• Install and maintain required plumbing on tools and molds.
• Complete work orders and required documentation.
• Complete TQRs on new tools and required forms.
• Make tooling modifications and repairs.
• Follow tooling repair and preventative maintenance schedules.
• Troubleshoot tool and mold defects.
• Troubleshoot tooling while on the production press when needed.
• Plan layouts and construct jigs and other tooling-related items.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Follow PPE and safety requirements.
• Participate in training, continuous improvement, and 5S programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Minimum 3 years of experience with tool repairs, modifications, and fabrication.
• Experience working with aluminum and carbon steel .
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Skilled in the use of:
  • Lathes
  • Milling machines
  • Radial drills
  • Aluminum and steel welding equipment
  • Various hand tools
• Ability to independently plan and complete jobs from start to finish.
• Experience with tooling plumbing and related equipment.
