A 267-bed hospital in Fort Walton Beach, FL — offering an Advanced Primary Stroke Center, a Cancer Care Center, open-heart surgery, a pediatric emergency room, and two freestanding ERs — is seeking a Director of Behavioral Health.

The role. Reporting to hospital leadership, the Director oversees all functions, staffing, and operations of the Behavioral Health department, with accountability for volume forecasting, budget planning, and performance monitoring. The Director advances patient safety and quality outcomes by identifying and implementing evidence-based clinical practices, managing variation in care delivery, and ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory standards. A central focus of this role is fostering interdisciplinary collaboration — coordinating patient flow, admission and discharge planning, and care coordination across departments to improve quality, safety, and efficiency. The Director also leads talent development efforts, including coaching, performance feedback, and building a team with the right clinical competencies to meet patient care needs. Additionally, this leader partners with administrative teams and physicians to evaluate and develop new behavioral health service offerings and manages department budgets, labor productivity, and operating expenses.

What we're looking for.

• Bachelor's Degree required
• RN License required
• 5 years of Recent (Within the last year) Acute Care Inpatient Behavioral Health Manager or Assistant Nurse Manager experience required
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Fingerprint required

Schedule. Day shift, full-time.
