Under the supervision of the Food & Beverage Manager, the Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items in a fast-paced, beer garden setting within a sports complex. This individual ensures high food quality, cleanliness, and consistency while working efficiently and maintaining a positive team environment.

Qualifications Must be able to uphold and enforce Park Districts Policies and Procedures and be able to provide work direction and supervision. BASSET Certification, Food Handlers Certification and a high school diploma are required. Exemplary communication skills and ability to work with the public are essential.

Individuals must be able to provide quality customer service by demonstrating adaptability and problem-solving skills.

Cognitive skills to follow both written and verbal directions

Manual labor; light to moderate lifting

Ability to work in a diverse climate and environment

Available to work weekends, holidays, flexible start/end times and occasional overtime

Prepare and cook food items according to standardized procedures

Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies before and during shifts

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and prep areas

Monitor food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and consistency

Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently

Assure compliance with health department regulations, as it pertains to food preparation

Work safely, follow sound practices to help ensure the safety of staff and park patrons

Provides other functions based on departmental needs

Must be at least 18 years old

Minimum 2 years of experience working as a line cook or in a similar food preparation role

Must be able to work on your feet for extended periods in a high-stimulation environment (noise, fast pace, frequent movement)

Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standard

Ability to follow directions and work under pressure
