The Fabricator – Robotic Fitter Welder is responsible for assembling and welding a variety of components by interfacing with the robot's computer controls to program, set up, and weld using the robotic welding machine. This role requires proficiency in manual processes and qualifications in the GMAW and FCAW welding processes.

Responsibilities:

• Program robotic welders to utilize the full capabilities of the equipment for producing a wide range of fabrications.
• Set up and operate robotic, semi-automatic, or manual welding equipment, selecting the most productive process including wire, current, voltage, and shielding gas in accordance with established welding procedures using AWS and ASTM as references.
• Control heat distortion and enhance productivity of welded fabrications, correcting heat distortion as necessary through flame straightening, clamps, and jacks.
• Fit-up a variety of fabrications by tack welding or fastening using various erection techniques including fixtures.
• Perform welding in the flat and horizontal positions using the GMAW and FCAW processes and qualify to weld in other positions as required.
• Engage in other fabrication processes such as grinding, beveling, hand burning, punching, drilling, shearing, sawing, assembly, and basic maintenance as directed.
• Safely operate overhead cranes, fork trucks, and rig large, heavy, awkward components.

Essential Skills:

• Proficiency in robotic welding.
• Strong blueprint reading skills.
• Experience in mechanical assembly.
• Ability to perform TIG and MIG welding.
• Knowledge in sheet metal fabrication.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Expertise in using welding equipment following AWS and ASTM standards.
• Capability to perform welding in various positions.
• Experience in operating heavy machinery such as overhead cranes and fork trucks.

Work Environment:

Work hours are 2:30pm to 1am, Monday through Thursday, with some overtime available. The facility is clean and climate-controlled, ensuring a comfortable working environment.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pleasant Prairie, WI.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
