Position Summary

Reporting to the Vice President of Special Projects, the SYPI Program Manager will be play a critical role in project management, developing strategic direction for supporting grantees, and successful execution of the SYPI Program.

These are full-time, fixed-term positions funded through a time-limited grant. The positions are currently funded through December 31, 2029 .

Through strategic leadership of the Strengthening Youth Programs in Indiana (SYPI) initiative, this role equips youth-serving organizations with the support, resources, and guidance they need to build organizational capacity, expand their impact, and create better outcomes for young people across the state.

As the SYPI initiative grows and evolves, this role helps ensure that grantees receive consistent guidance, meaningful support, and high-quality resources while maintaining accountability to program goals and grant requirements. By fostering strong partnerships, supporting organizational growth, and driving successful program implementation, the SYPI Program Manager contributes directly to stronger youth-serving organizations and better outcomes for Indiana's children and youth.

• Lead the SYPI initiative with excellence by coordinating complex projects, supporting grantees, and ensuring successful implementation of program goals and grant requirements.

• Translate strategy into measurable impact by using data, technical assistance, and relationship building to advance organizational capacity and improve outcomes for Indiana's children and youth.

Core responsibilities will Include (but not be limited to): 

SYPI Project Implementation & Management (45%)

Leads the implementation of the SYPI program for grantees, in partnership with the Vice President of Special Projects.

• Manages timelines, project plans, and reporting expectations to ensure timely and successful completion of the SYPI program.
• Follow all regulations related to projects and ensure grantees follow funding requirements.

SYPI Grantee Technical Assistance and Customer Service (45%)

Supports the cohort of grantees throughout the grant period through consistent engagement, identifying opportunities for assistance and problem solving.

• Provides technical assistance to and builds relationships with a large group of SYPI grantees throughout the grant period.
• Identify needs and opportunities to provide meaningful support and resources to grantees as they implement their projects.
• Support the ideation, development, and implementation of webinars, convenings, and resources to increase grantees’ organizational capacity.

  SYPI Data Management (10%)

Manages program data across the cohort, ensuring that accurate and timely data is available for decision-making and strategy development.

• Responsible for measuring progress against key metrics. 

• Regularly reviews grantee reports and data.
• Supports the utilization of IYI Connect (Salesforce CRM) for the SYPI Program. 

  Core Skills Required (but are not limited to):

• Communication skills both excellent written and verbal  

• Project management skills such as time management, project and task planning and prioritization, scheduling other people, and coordinating logistics and preparation for events. 

• Strategic thinking skills to solve problems, develop new program components, and ensure that the program stays on track while supporting a variety of different programmatic needs. 

• Ability to multitask with several project details at once to ensure excellent support for a large cohort of youth-serving organizations in a dynamic and developing program. 
• Strong customer service skills to support grantees in a consistently excellent manner.

 

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or commensurate experience (required)
• 5-7 years of related youth services, nonprofit, education, philanthropy, or public-sector experience (required)
• Ability to travel within the state of Indiana (required)
• Experience working with grant-funded initiatives and understanding the balance between compliance, support, and relationship management

• Ability to build long-term, trusting working relationships with diverse individuals and communities

  Compensation and Benefits

IYI offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualification. This is a full-time, exempt position with a salary range of $50,000-$65,000; it is possible that a senior manager may be hired based on additional experience, with a salary range of $70,000 - $80,000. Starting salaries are typically determined based on relevant experience, skills, and internal compensation alignment, and generally fall between the minimum and midpoint of the range.

Working Conditions:

IYI operates within a hybrid work environment and is committed to supporting flexibility, employee well-being, and work-life balance. Employees work remotely while also participating regularly in in-person meetings, events, and organizational activities that support organizational effectiveness.

Candidates should expect to work in person on a regular basis and be available to attend meetings throughout Indiana as needed.

Work schedules will occasionally vary based on event calendars, meeting schedules, and organizational priorities. Evening and occasional weekend work may be required to support organizational events and initiatives.

Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
