Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM) Experience: 2 years of acute inpatient RN experience License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Patient Assessment, Plan of Care, Clinical Interventions, Patient and Family Education, Delegation Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse focuses on safe, effective patient and family-centered care. Customer satisfaction and quality outcomes are priorities. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. Emphasis is placed on personal development with a focus on evidence-based practice and education. Supervision of licensed and non-licensed staff members is required. The RN applies the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care. Responsibilities include assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. A focus on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction is essential. The RN utilizes educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care. Mentoring and precepting staff is a key responsibility. Job Responsibilities: Assessment: Performs assessments and reassessments per policy or as warranted by patient condition. Demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. Development and Implementation: Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care. Reviews and revises the plan as indicated. Collaborates with patient/family and interdisciplinary services. Utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization, patient, and family. Evaluation: Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions. Education: Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient/family needs. Education is provided during their stay and at discharge. Leadership: Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. Functions as a mentor and preceptor. Demonstrates, encourages, and facilitates teamwork. Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement. Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts. Implements practice changes and complies with regulatory standards. Participates in the Practice Governance model.
