Human Milk Technician, C4B - NICU

Job Title

Manages the preparation, distribution, and inventory of Human Milk (HM) and Donor Human Milk (DHM)

Essential Functions:

• Collects and processes human milk according to established protocols.
• Labels and stores human milk in appropriate containers and locations.
• Monitors and maintains inventory of human milk and supplies.
• Cleans and sanitizes equipment and work areas.
• Monitors daily inventory and orders additional nutrition room supplies as needed, stocks nutrition room with all needed supplies.
• Monitors refrigerator and freezer temperatures and notifies engineering for assessment of potential/actual problems.

Education Requirement:

High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

Skills:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of computer and software.
• Exhibit basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to understand and interpret basic medical terminologies.

Physical Requirements:

OCCASIONALLY: Bend/twist, Lifting / Carrying: 0-10 lbs

FREQUENTLY: Blood and/or Bodily Fluids, Computer skills, Hand use: grasping, gripping, turning, Problem solving, Reaching above shoulder, Sitting, Walking

CONTINUOUSLY: Color vision, Depth perception, Interpreting Data, Peripheral vision, Standing
