Overview The North Olympic Salmon Coalition (NOSC) is a non‑profit organization working to promote robust wild salmon stocks for families, fishers, and local economies. NOSC is a Regional Fisheries Enhancement Group designated by the State of Washington to assist with salmon recovery efforts within our region, which extends from the Hood Canal to Cape Flattery. This AmeriCorps/Washington Service Corps national service position is a community engagement role that will help expand NOSC’s education and outreach programs. The position will conduct environmental education programs with K‑12 students, maintain school‑based salmon tanks, train teachers, deliver community programs, and support stewardship activities. Two members will be hired: one starting September 1, 2026 through mid‑May 2027, and the other starting September 1, 2026 through mid‑July 2027. Monthly stipend: $2,438. The position is contingent on funding and open until filled. Member Duties Conduct environmental education programs with K‑12 students; Maintain school‑based salmon tanks and train teachers on daily tasks; Prepare and deliver salmon‑related community programs; Assist with coordination and planning of field education and stewardship programs with a variety of audiences; Support community engagement in stewardship activities; Assist with activity development and piloting of new offerings.
