Ophthalmology Technician
$16 - $18 per hourSnelling
Snelling Staffing has an IMMEDIATE OPENING for an experienced ophthalmology technician for an eye clinic in the Baton Rouge area. Excellent patient care skills will be essential as the position will be responsible for assisting in during exams and procedures and conducting preliminary tests. This position will be full-time and paying in a range of $16-$18 per hour with excellent benefits.
Previous experience working in ophthalmology is REQUIRED!! While certification is not required prior to starting, candidates must be able to obtain certification within 3-6 months.
• Prepare patient for examinations by taking detailed medical histories and vitals
• Perform diagnostic tests such as visual acuity assessments, intraocular pressure measurements, refraction, and slit-lamp examinations.
• Assist ophthalmologist during clinic procedures such as administering eye drops, setting up equipment, and maintaining aseptic technique
• Educate patients on eye health, treatment plans, and post-procedure care while maintain HIPAA compliant
• Support front desk functions as needed
