Staff Backend Software Engineer

The RoleRaydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Lead the creation of core server-side systems for a high-volume messaging platform, taking work from initial concept through live operation. Work alongside a compact engineering group and take new product areas from nothing to launch.What You'll DoTake ownership of central backend systems covering routing, delivery and automation.Build and release dependable services that stay performant under very heavy traffic.Lead the creation of new product areas from the ground up, beyond individual features.Partner closely with a small group of engineers.Tackle demanding infrastructure challenges and shorten the path from concept to production.What We're Looking ForAround 6 or more years of engineering experience, including recent time at a high-growth technology startup.A record of quick career progression to staff, lead or founding level; long tenure at senior level is acceptable.Experience building complete products from 0 to 1.Professional experience with Node.js and TypeScript.Experience with queue-based infrastructure such as AWS SQS.Ability to drive technical projects from start to finish with little oversight.Skill at explaining complex technical ideas in plain language.A collaborative, team-oriented working style.A technical undergraduate degree earned in the US.Bonus PointsExperience as a founding engineer, co-founder or early engineering hire at a startup.Frontend development experience.BenefitsHealth, dental and vision coverage.Location And Work ModelSan Francisco, CA, United StatesOn-site, 5 days per week in officeFull-timeCompensation, As The Posting Describes ItEquityFlexible time off Raydar Inc
