Company Overview

P&E Constructors is an employee-owned (ESOP) mechanical and electrical construction firm executing large capital projects with deep roots in the industrial construction sector. Since 1946, we've delivered fabrication and installation services with a commitment to safety, quality, reliability, and client-focused solutions.

Candidates may be based anywhere within the U.S.; however, the selected individual should be prepared for assignments at various project locations nationwide. Travel for this position may reach up to approximately 90%.

Project assignments generally last 10 to 17 months, depending on project duration and operational requirements. While assigned to a project away from home, eligible employees are provided per diem to assist with temporary living and travel-related expenses, in addition to a competitive base salary.

Position Overview

The Electrical Quality Control Inspector is responsible for independently verifying the quality, completeness, and code of compliance of electrical installations on active project sites. This role works closely with the P&E project team to understand the scope of work and to support timely project closeout by identifying deficiencies, managing punch lists, and confirming that corrective actions meet project requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform independent quality control inspections of electrical work to verify conformance with project plans/specifications, applicable codes, and quality standards
  • Develop, manage, and track punch lists, including verification of corrective actions and readiness for project closeout
  • Coordinate with the P&E project team to understand scope, milestones, inspection hold points, and documentation requirements
  • Identify and document nonconformances/deficiencies, communicate issues to project leadership, and recommend corrective actions
  • Support turnover activities, closeout documentation, and final walkdowns to ensure complete and compliant deliverables
  • Promote a strong culture of safety and quality while working onsite with field personnel and subcontractors
  • Review installation records, test documentation, and quality reports for accuracy and completeness
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and commissioning teams to resolve quality issues
  • Ensure work complies with project specifications, NEC requirements, applicable industry standards, and owner requirements
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in quality assurance, quality control, inspection, or commissioning
  • Experience with electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems on industrial construction projects
  • Journeyman's electrical license or NCCER required
  • Background in pharmaceutical, life sciences, semiconductor, cleanroom, or other highly regulated industries
  • Experience with greenfield facility projects preferred
  • Knowledge of Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and quality documentation processes
  • Experience preparing or reviewing turnover documentation packages
  • Familiarity with commissioning and qualification (C&Q) activities
  • Experience working in cGMP/FDA-regulated environments strongly preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced project environment
