We are currently seeking a Certified Reading Specialist who excels working with children who have challenging behaviors in a classroom setting. This position supports our approved private school for an emotional support and behavioral health population located at [20 McMaster Blvd, Landenberg, PA 19350] . The Reading Specialist position is Full‑Time, Monday–Friday. Every day as a Reading Specialist you will: Provide reading intervention services directly to students in individual and group settings Maintain progress monitoring and data to support growth of students Conduct screenings and provide diagnostic results of students' reading levels and needs Attend IEP meetings and report on student progress Provide consultation specific to reading instruction including modeling, observations, and coaching to teachers and teacher’s assistants Work collaboratively with the leadership of the schools and the students’ IEP team to provide a continuum of reading instruction You will be offered: $63,000 – $71,820 (based upon experience) A multi‑disciplinary supportive environment – great for those new to the field! Small classes and small ratios. Staff throughout school use a strengths‑based approach emphasizing positive behavioral supports. ASCEND – Career Accelerator Program Qualifications EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Education and/or Special Education required. Pennsylvania Department of Education Reading Specialist Certification required. Wilson Reading System Level I Certification preferred or willingness to obtain Wilson certification. EXPERIENCE: Experience in a school teaching environment required. Experience providing specially designed instruction preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to lead group meetings and interface with internal and external stakeholders.
