Position Highlights:

• Schedule: Full-time, Night Shift (6:30 PM - 7:00 AM), consisting of three 12-hour shifts weekly. Rotating weekends (every third) and holiday coverage required.
• Sign-On Bonus: A two-year service commitment is necessary, applicable only to external qualified candidates.
• Open to both CRT and RRT professionals!

Position Overview:

This role involves assessing and providing care for patients requiring respiratory therapy. You will administer prescribed therapeutic services for respiratory conditions.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications:

PRIMARY DUTIES

• Evaluate patients to determine the appropriate type and frequency of treatment, creating a care plan based on their diagnosis.
• Deliver respiratory care services in line with physician orders, departmental policies, and established guidelines.
• Implement and oversee patient care plans and equipment, monitoring, documenting, and communicating patient conditions. Perform advanced respiratory care techniques.
• Assess respiratory practices, medication administration, and treatment effectiveness based on patient outcomes.
• Provide education to patients and their families regarding health conditions and available community support resources.
• Assist in the care, calibration, and maintenance of all equipment. Help maintain departmental inventory for supplies and equipment, following established cleaning and sterilization protocols.
• Respond to medical emergencies and rapid response situations.
• Maintain a state of alertness and safety at all times.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

• Associate’s degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent experience and education.

EXPERIENCE

• No prior experience is necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Regularly use speech for effective oral communication.
• Consistently stand and walk.
• Frequently lift, carry, and push/pull objects weighing between 0-25 lbs.
• Regularly sit, reach, and engage in keyboard use/data entry.
• Frequently utilize vision and depth perception for near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances, as well as to identify and differentiate colors.
• Regularly use smell to detect and recognize odors.
• Frequently rely on hearing to receive oral communication, distinguish bodily sounds, and detect alarms or malfunctioning equipment.
• Occasionally lift, carry, and push/pull objects weighing between 25-50 lbs.
• Occasionally assist in lifting/moving patients.
• Occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, grip, and perform repetitive movements with feet/legs and hands/arms.
• Occasionally drive.
• Rarely crawl or run.

REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Location: Missouri

• Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• Respiratory Care Practitioner - Missouri Division of Professional Registration
