Registered Veterinary Technician-Oncology

Description Veterinary Cancer Group of SFV is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician to join our medical oncology team. The position offers a $10,000 sign‑on bonus to eligible candidates. The group was founded in 1992 and has grown into one of the largest veterinary oncology groups worldwide. Location: Woodland Hills, CA (near beaches, hiking, restaurants). The group has three additional sites throughout Southern California and works in the same building as ACCESS, collaborating with advanced diagnostic, emergency and surgical services. Hours Full‑time; 10‑hour shifts. Must be available to work from 8 am to 7 pm. Rate of Pay Starting at $26‑30 /hr, based on experience. Requirements Minimum 2 years of veterinary technician experience RVT license required Knowledge of veterinary medicine and terminology Prior chemotherapy experience desired, but willing to train the right candidate Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong attention to detail and follow‑through Ability to communicate calmly, clearly and effectively with staff and clients Ability to handle high‑stress situations Willingness to cross‑train in other areas of the hospital Essential Job Duties Able to assess changes in hospitalized patients’ condition and advise the doctor, update owners daily Perform venipuncture, IV catheterization and administer IV/IM/SQ injections Provide fluid therapy and drug calculations Handle animal handling and restraint Obtain, run and process diagnostic tests Administer and fill medications Proficient in catheterizations (urinary, IV, butterfly) Monitor anesthesia (induce, monitor, recover patients) Coordinate patient care Perform bone marrow aspirates, skin punch biopsies and fine‑needle aspirates Perform MRI, CT and assist with ultrasounds Assist with radiographs or hold for ultrasonography procedures Communicate complex information in a clear, kind manner to clients Assist in patient procedures: exams, preparation, present estimates and equipment Maintain patient medical records with attention to detail Use Ezyvet (a plus) Multitask in an evolving environment Perform light housekeeping and restock supplies Perform other duties as assigned #J-18808-Ljbffr Veterinary Cancer Group SFV
