The practice values reliability, attention to detail, and strong communication among all team members.\nRole Description The Medical Assistant is responsible for proper preparation of patient arrival through review of current schedule and anticipation of what needs to be prepared for each patient encounter at the office. They must assist the flow of patients in and out of the treatment room in an efficient way by following office protocols. Obtain all patient information needed prior to the doctor entering the treatment room. Helping maintain a clean, courteous, and professional working environment. The job also requires the ability to maintain a quick pace in a growing, fast-paced medical facility for the duration of scheduled shift minus meal/break time. Manage an average of 4 patients per hour, return calls to patients with results as directed by the clinician and ensure that all records contain the necessary completed and signed forms. Responsible for checking a patient’s identifier (e.g. patient name, date of birth, social security number, and address) before performing vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, height, and weight. Ensure that the patient receives patient education material and a clinical summary.\n\nResponsiblities\n\n Assist in the delivery of patient care, providing both clinical and administrative support in a fast-paced, growing environment\n Assist with patient intake, including gathering medical history and vital signs\n Take notes during patient visits and document them in the electronic health records system\n Prepare patients for examination and treatment by the podiatrist\n Sterilize and prepare medical instruments\n Assist with podiatric procedures/surgeries as needed.\n Manage patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality\n Schedule patient appointments and follow-up visits\n Provide patient education on podiatric care, post-operative instructions, and preventative measures\n Ensure a clean and organized work environment\n Taking x-rays (training and supervision required)\n
