Instrument OperatorBL Companies is seeking an Instrument Operator to support survey field operations for land development, transportation, energy, and infrastructure projects. Working under the direction of a Survey Crew Chief, this position assists with data collection, construction layout, boundary, topographic, and as-built surveys while ensuring accuracy, safety, and quality standards are met.ResponsibilitiesOperate survey equipment, including GPS/GNSS receivers, total stations, levels, and data collectors.Assist with boundary, topographic, utility, ALTA, and construction stakeout surveys.Set up and maintain survey equipment and field control points.Collect, record, and verify field data and measurements.Assist with construction layout and staking activities.Maintain field notes and support data transfer for office processing.Follow company safety standards and project-specific requirements.Travel to project sites as needed.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required.0–3 years of survey field experience preferred.Basic knowledge of surveying principles and field procedures.Experience with GPS and robotic total station equipment preferred.Ability to work outdoors in various weather and terrain conditions.Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.BL Companies is 100% employee owned, giving us a competitive edge and a unique distinction from most other companies.
