CDL Class A Driver Full Time Operatives Elkhart, IN, US 2 days ago Requisition ID: 1213 Salary Range: $28.00 To $32.00 Hourly JOB DESCRIPTION $2,000 SIGN ON BONUS Summary/Objective : The CDL Driver is responsible for transporting goods from the Elkhart distribution centers to local customer locations within a 100-mile radius operating a semi tractor/trailer. Essential Functions: Manages proof of delivery paperwork from customers Loads and unloads trucks as needed. Checks mechanical aspects of vehicle. Perform inspections before and after a trip. Follows all safety rules. Operate a forklift; maintain forklift certification. Performs warehouse duties as needed. Maintain CDL Class A license to include DOT physical and driving requirements. Performs other duties as requested to full accountability Characteristic Duties: Ability to follow instructions and take directions with a cheerful outlook. Ability to work independently. Ability to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to maintain a good attendance record. Ability to maintain focus, situational and spatial awareness. Ability to maintain a safe driving record. Ability to read customer orders and follow safety regulations. Good knowledge of local roads and truck routes Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills Strong knowledge of safety regulations Physical fitness, hand-eye coordination, visual and hearing acuity Ability to distinguish the colors of traffic lights. Supervisory Responsibility: None This job operates in an outdoor environment, driving a vehicle with a weight over 26,001 pounds. This list is not all inclusive. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to speak and listen. This position requires maneuvering large vehicles in crowded streets and highways; standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, stooping, as well as using hands and fingers to handle, feel, lift, and/or operate equipment; reach with hands and arms. The employee may be required to lift/move up to 50 pounds. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, occasionally overtime, as necessary.
