The Mechanical Installer II role focuses on the installation and commissioning of mechanical and robotic systems in a large distribution center environment. You will install robotic arms, sub-stations, and internal site fencing while working primarily on mezzanine and sub-mezzanine levels. This position suits mechanically inclined individuals who are comfortable with hand and power tools and have prior installation experience in machinery, robotics, or similar fields.

Responsibilities

• Install approximately 20 robotic arms and around 40 sub-stations according to provided diagrams and instructions.
• Build and assemble robotic arms and stations using hand tools and air-powered tools.
• Install internal site fencing and related mechanical components on mezzanine and sub-mezzanine levels.
• Use pallet jacks to move, strap, and catalogue materials safely and efficiently.
• Run wiring for power supply and material handling equipment following step-by-step instructions.
• Commission towers and related structures using hand and air-powered tools in alignment with technical diagrams.
• Support project teams by assisting with commissioning activities and general mechanical installation tasks.
• Perform general labor duties such as loading, packaging, cleaning, and housekeeping in the warehouse.
• Run materials via elevator using pallet jacks and ensure they are properly organized and secured.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including sweeping and general warehouse cleaning.
• Follow safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment at all times.
• Take direction from supervisors and adapt to working in multiple positions, including inventory and housekeeping.

Essential Skills

• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools and power tools.
• Previous installation experience in machinery, robotics, construction, or similar environments.
• Ability to lift 4050 lbs consistently throughout an 8-hour shift.
• Comfort working 8-hour days on a hard cement floor.
• Ability to read and follow step-by-step instructions and basic diagrams.
• Experience using pallet jacks to move, strap, and catalogue materials.
• Capability to run wiring for power supply and material handling equipment.
• Strong attendance and reliability, with a commitment to showing up consistently and on time.
• Ability to take direction well and follow guidance from project leads and supervisors.
• Willingness to perform general labor tasks, including loading, packaging, and cleaning.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in robotics installation or working with robotic systems.
• Construction, heavy installation, or general labor within industrial or warehouse environments.
• Familiarity with mechanical assembly and commissioning of towers or similar structures.
• Comfort working in multiple roles, including inventory management and housekeeping.
• Ability to work safely in busy, loud, and sometimes messy distribution center environments.
• Short-term assignment of approximately 10 weeks, ideal for those seeking project-based work.

Work Environment

This role is based in a large distribution center that can be messy, loud, and sometimes crowded, with a high level of visibility to onsite stakeholders. Most work takes place on mezzanine and sub-mezzanine levels, requiring comfort with working at height and on hard cement floors for full 8-hour shifts. You will use pallet jacks, hand tools, and air-powered tools while working around active material handling and robotic equipment. The dress code requires personal protective equipment, including a high-visibility vest, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, and composite toe shoes or boots. Jeans and t-shirts are acceptable, but loose or baggy clothing is not permitted for safety reasons.

This is a Contract position based out of Franklin, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
