THE POSITIONThe Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking a Corrections General Industries Factory Foreperson who enjoys teamwork and hands on activity. DESCRIPTION OF WORKThis position guides inmate workers in carrying out manufacturing and production tasks while keeping operations safe, orderly, and efficient. It combines instruction, oversight, and coordination across daily factory activities. As a Corrections General Industries Factory Foreperson, you will perform the following duties:
- Training Support: Teach inmates proper production methods and safe equipment practices
- Workplace Safety: Maintain a secure environment through searches, monitoring, and tool control
- Operational Oversight: Track production activity, materials, and inventory through SAP systems
- Process Improvement: Analyze reports and recommend equipment changes that raise output efficiencies
- Record Management: Complete attendance logs and provide input for progress reports

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,868.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of experience in the production of goods or services; or
- An associate degree in industrial technology, operations management, business administration, or a related field; and one year of work experience in the production of goods or services; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training, which includes one year of work experience in the production of goods or services.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
