Host Person – Full Time                                                                                  Starting Pay: $23.00 per hour

InterContinental The Clement Monterey is looking for a warm, outgoing, and hospitality-driven Full-Time Host Person to join our C’ Restaurant & Bar team.

As a Host Person, you are one of the first and last impressions our guests have of their dining experience. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in providing attentive, polished service.

Schedule & Compensation: This is a Full-Time, Non-Exempt position starting at $23.00 per hour. Candidates must have flexible availability and be able to work weekends and holidays based on business needs.

The position requires prolonged standing and walking and other physical activity associated with restaurant operations.

What You’ll Do

• Warmly greet and welcome guests and provide professional, efficient seating.
• Manage reservations, waitlists, and seating rotation to support smooth restaurant operations.
• Answer telephone calls and assist guests with reservation requests and questions.
• Communicate closely with servers, culinary staff, and management to anticipate guest needs.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and welcoming host area.
• Assist with barista duties, including preparing lattes, cappuccinos, coffee, and tea beverages.
• Become knowledgeable about our food and beverage offerings and confidently make recommendations.
• Assist the restaurant team as needed with beverage service, table clearing and resetting, and other guest service needs.
• Respond professionally to guest questions or concerns and involve management when appropriate.
• Help create a welcoming environment where every guest feels valued and cared for.

What We’re Looking For: We’re seeking someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and a genuine passion for hospitality. Candidates should be comfortable multitasking, remaining composed under pressure, and working collaboratively as part of a team.

A high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of restaurant and/or guest service experience are preferred. Prior hotel experience, bilingual or multilingual skills, Alcohol Awareness

Certification, and a California Food Handler Card are also preferred qualifications.

We are looking for someone who can easily engage and adapt to our unique culture. We are looking for a friendly and knowledgeable Host Person to join our family! The Host Person is responsible for greeting guests and providing a pleasant drinking experience. The Host Person has knowledge about spirits, cocktails and wine and with that knowledge, upsells, recommends menu items, creates new recipes and learns about the guest’s preferences. The Host Person will prepare food, drinks and will handle cleaning duties as well. The Host Person is an integral part of our team at the property and works side by side with managers and associates on a day-to-day basis to anticipate and meet guest’s needs. We are looking for someone who will help us maintain our high quality standards, who will help develop new ideas and ways to improve our guest satisfaction scores.
