Working Title: RN / 7P / 4 West ICU at Good Samaritan Hospital Department: H6120: Critical Care Location: Lexington, KY Grade Level: 10 Salary Range: $28.00 - $39.10 per hour Position Type: Staff Employment Status: Full-Time Required Education: ADN Required Experience: No experience required. Required License / Certification: Active Kentucky Registered Nurse (RN) license, Temporary Work Permit (TWP), Provisional License or active compact state RN license in good standing, and American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification valid for at least 6 months after employment date. Physical Requirements: Must be capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling 50-100 pounds daily and 25-50 pounds frequently; must stand, walk, sit for long periods; must be able to work in environments with exposure to communicable diseases, radiation hazards, and injury from intractable patients or sharp instruments. Shift requirements: Must work three 12‑hour shifts per week from 7 pm to 7:30 am; also required to work some weekend and holiday shifts. Job Summary GSH 4ICU provides care to critically ill patients. Patient conditions include sepsis, CHF, GI bleed, COPD, drug overdose, respiratory failure, renal failure, hepatic failure, and multisystem organ failure among others. The RN serves as an important component of the critical care team, providing total, comprehensive, continuous, and patient‑centered care. Responsibilities include assessing, documenting, planning, implementing, teaching, developing, and evaluating comprehensive nursing plans of care; delivering direct patient care; ensuring patient satisfaction; training and delegating duties to Nursing Care Technicians; and adhering to university policies, federal, state, and local regulations. Superb direct patient care and critical thinking skills. Basic computer navigation skills and working knowledge of the internet. Team‑orientated with open, honest communication. Exceptional technical skills and the ability to work independently. Supervisory Responsibilities No supervisory responsibilities. Preferred Education / Experience BSN + at least 1 year of RN experience preferred.
