Registered Nurse (RN) | Cancer Institute Laboratory

Location Avera McKennan Hospital, Prairie Center, Day Shift (7:30 am - 4 pm, Monday-Friday). Closed weekends & holidays. Position Highlights Pay Range: $27.75 - $41.25 per hour, dependent on experience. Eligible for $3,000 sign-on bonus. Responsibilities Complete venous and central lab specimen collections for oncology patients. Collect Line-Based specimens and perform peripheral vein phlebotomy. Provide front-line evaluation of patient condition and communicate variances to clinicians timely, following protocols. Review physician prescriptions and coordinate with healthcare team to develop and implement nursing care plans. Document patient condition, plan, interventions, and outcomes in clinical records. Maintain infection-control policies, medication administration, and controlled substance regulations. Operate & troubleshoot patient care equipment, maintain supplies, and manage preventive maintenance. Maintain competence in nursing capabilities and comply with organizational standards and legal regulations (e.g., CMS, Joint Commission, DHHS, OSHA). Essential Qualifications Must be able to work specified hours. Visual acuity adequate for duties; effective communication, hearing, and speech comprehension. High School or GED equivalent. Registered Nurse (RN) with an active Board of Nursing license in the state of practice. Preferred Qualifications Associate's Degree. 1–3 years of clinical experience.
