Provide structures analytical support for GTF commercial programs, with responsibility for the durability and structural integrity of gas-turbine compressor components. This includes airfoils, rotors & shafts, cases, and actuation linkage systems. What You Will Do Provide analytical support for preliminary & detailed design, through development, validation, certification, manufacturing and operational service. Cover validation testing (engine and rig) and data-reduction. Support in-service field investigations. Use FE and classical methods for strength, stress/deflection, vibration, fatigue life, damage tolerance, containment, kinematic and optimization analyses. Participate on multi-discipline teams to provide design solutions that balance customer requirements for durability, performance, cost and weight. Provide oversight and technical guidance for less experienced engineers and outsourced tasks. Coordinate with others to advance technology and improve engineering standard work processes/methods. Document and present results to management and external customers. Qualifications You Must Have BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent) with 5+ years of experience OR Advanced degree with 3+ years of experience Experience using FEM for stress/deflection, vibration, and performing LCF, HCF, Fracture Mechanics or Kinematics analyses Background in structural analysis U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract. Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) Compression Systems Engineering is responsible for the design, development, and in service support of all fans low-pressure and high-pressure compressors for commercial and military engine models. CSE is responsible for the identification and maturation of new technologies for these products. Technical disciplines in CSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, and Product Definition. What is my role type? The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
