FM Engineering Ops Manager

About the role As a CBRE FM Engineering Operations Manager, you will help manage a team responsible for providing technical and operational support to the account staff. This role is part of the Engineering and Technical Services function and focuses on preventive maintenance, repairs on equipment and systems. You will support sites within our Healthcare sector, encompassing hospitals and clinics—approximately 300 clinics—working remotely from Central-Mountain Time. You will supervise 20 direct reports, manage the technology team’s performance and client relationships, coordinate work order management, respond to emails and phone calls, and oversee on‑call coverage 24‑7. Outstanding communication skills and basic computer proficiency in Outlook and Microsoft 365 are required. What You’ll Do Provide formal supervision to employees, monitor training and development, conduct performance evaluations and coaching, and oversee recruiting and hiring. Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities, establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross‑train staff. Set and track staff and department deadlines, mentor and coach as needed. Maintain relationships with clients, partners, and other stakeholders. Manage the profits and losses of the department or specific division. Develop goals and initiatives and guide managers in implementing company initiatives and policies. Evaluate company processes and procedures to solve issues. Ensure business operations are implemented based on established procedures. Keep track of regulatory records and paperwork. Lead by example, model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values, and influence parties of shared interests. Apply knowledge of own discipline and how it integrates with others to achieve team and departmental objectives. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day‑to‑day and moderately complex issues that may or may not be evident in existing systems and processes. What You’ll Need Bachelor’s Degree preferred with 3‑5 years of relevant experience; a combination of experience and education will be considered. Experience in staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, and performance management. Ability to handle sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations, and resolve problems. Leadership skills to motivate and impact quality, efficiency, and effectiveness. In‑depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook). Extensive organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset. Advanced math skills, including percent, fraction, and other financial calculations.
