Production Lead - 2nd Shift

Seeking: Production Lead – 2nd Shift Location: Northeast Houston Area | 77028 Pay: $25.00 per hour | Weekly Pay Training Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Day Shift) Regular Schedule: Monday–Friday | 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM (Must arrive by 2:00 PM for the daily production meeting) Overtime: 5–6 days per week based on production needs Employment Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire Important: This is a safety-sensitive manufacturing position. Openwork is partnering with a leading manufacturing company in Northeast Houston to hire a Production Lead – 2nd Shift . This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manufacturing professional who enjoys leading by example, supporting production teams, and helping operations run safely and efficiently. We're looking for someone with strong manufacturing experience, excellent communication skills, and a passion for developing others while keeping production on schedule. What You'll Be Doing: Lead daily production operations while promoting a safe and productive work environment. Support multiple production departments, including Mill, Roll-Up, Saw, Packaging, and Scrap Operations. Coordinate daily production priorities to meet quality, safety, and delivery goals. Fill in across production areas as needed to maintain workflow. Inspect finished products using tape measures, micrometers, and other measuring tools. Perform daily forklift, overhead crane, and respirator inspections. Complete production reports, inspection records, and required documentation. Report equipment concerns, production issues, material shortages, and safety hazards. Assist with inventory counts, truck loading, housekeeping, and material handling. Lead by example while promoting teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. What We're Looking For: High school diploma or GED required. 3–5 years of manufacturing or production experience. Previous experience as a Production Lead, Team Lead, Shift Lead, Manufacturing Lead, or similar leadership role preferred. Sit-down propane forklift experience required. What We're Looking For: Overhead crane experience highly preferred. Ability to wear a respirator throughout the shift. Strong math and measurement skills, including tape measures and micrometers. Ability to read and write in English. Knowledge of OSHA and manufacturing safety practices. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Dependable, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Work Environment: Safety-sensitive manufacturing facility. Team-oriented production environment. Fast-paced operation focused on quality, safety, and efficiency. Daily use of forklifts, overhead cranes, measuring tools, and production equipment. Required use of PPE, including a respirator.
