Wellness Supervisor

Develop, lead and supervise a coordinated, integrated and diverse schedule of recreational activities, events and supportive services (group and/or individual) within the Wellness Department, providing residents with the benefits of social and group interaction across independent, assisted living, memory loss unit and skilled nursing environments. Responsibilities Manage, develop, implement, supervise and evaluate wellness programs and activities. Complete or delegate the activities component of the comprehensive assessment. Contribute to, direct or delegate contribution to the comprehensive care plan goals. Manage wellness program scheduling and revise interventions as necessary. Hire, train, supervise disciplines, evaluate and terminate wellness staff. Create, develop and facilitate a comprehensive wellness program that is preventative, holistic and addresses mind, body, and spirit dimensions. Develop, monitor and manage the departmental budget for social activities, physical fitness, education, social services, chaplaincy and volunteers. Assess residents’ conditions and abilities, using this information to develop a responsive activity plan. Motivate residents to attend activities. Publicize and advertise activities and events within Village(s) and local communities. Coordinate brainstorming and approve special events, holiday activities and blended programs within the village. Approve the resident newsletter and calendar of events. Direct posted activities and assign program leadership to qualified individuals. Schedule and coordinate leisure activity programs to meet the variety of interests, physical, cognitive and psychosocial needs of all current residents. Facilitate and delegate decoration of the facility for holidays and special events, and assign responsibility to qualified individuals. Review documentation and prepare reports (verbal and written) on attendance, participation, interest, change in abilities, appropriateness of care, activity plan, etc. Revise and update documentation (including charts, MDS, etc.) in accordance with State/village requirements and provide reports regarding the same. Prepare and present reports to the Resident Association. Attend and facilitate assigned committee meetings. Education Bachelor’s Degree and/or 3 years’ experience in a leadership position in a senior living setting. Experience 2 Years’ Experience in a Senior Living Environment Preferred. 2 years’ experience in a social, recreational, wellness program in a senior living setting. Computer Skills Efficient computer knowledge and use of Microsoft products: word processing, spreadsheets, database systems and email.
