Museum Representative

Under limited supervision, the Museum Representative is responsible for accepting and executing activity registrations, memberships, gift shop sales, guest services and to ensure all materials needed for processing or guest inquiries are correctly submitted and/or included. Provides clerical support to the Coral Springs Museum of Art. Employees in this classification provide general information to guests using high quality customer service skills.

Examples of duties include:

  • Greets guests and provides appropriate information as requested
  • Registers guests for various museum programs and memberships
  • Provides assistance on telephone inquiries about the museum or directs calls to the appropriate staff
  • Assists students and instructors with programming/event check in, supplies, room assignments, and questions
  • Daily handling of cash, credit cards and reconciling of payments. Accepts fees for registration and sales
  • Work involves cross-training and multi-tasking. Provides general clerical support to Museum
  • Interacts with guests while maintaining a high level of professionalism and represents the Museum in the best light possible.

Typical qualifications include:

High school diploma or GED; and minimum of two (2) years office experience; Knowledge of Microsoft Word and ability to create Excel spreadsheets, preferred. Must be able to learn and use various computer skills and programs. Experience in an art and cultural organization not required but favored.

Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as office or meeting and training rooms, e.g., use of safe work place practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire and building safety regulations, and traffic signals when driving.
