Job Title: Shop Electrician Job Description

This role focuses on installing, wiring, and supporting electrical systems and instrumentation within an industrial shop environment. You will interpret blueprints and schematics, plan and install conduit runs, and perform electrical wiring and terminations on compressor systems and related industrial equipment. The position requires strong hands-on electrical skills, attention to detail, and adherence to electrical safety practices.

• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and process documentation to understand project requirements and system layouts.
• Follow verbal and written work instructions to complete assigned electrical tasks accurately and on time.
• Plan conduit routing based on technical drawings and system layouts to ensure efficient and safe cable paths.
• Bend and shape conduit to navigate around structural obstacles while maintaining code compliance and system integrity.
• Weld or install strut supports to securely mount conduit onto compressor packages and other industrial structures.
• Install electrical components and instrumentation on compressor systems and related industrial equipment.
• Pull, route, and terminate various types of wiring, including power, control, and signal cables, in accordance with standards and best practices.
• Perform electrical installation, repair, and troubleshooting tasks on low-voltage and high-voltage systems as needed.
• Use appropriate tools and equipment to run conduit, install wiring, and complete electrical assemblies in a shop environment.
• Apply electrical safety procedures and industry best practices to maintain a safe work area and protect personnel and equipment.

• Ability to read and understand blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and process documentation.
• Hands-on experience working with electrical components, instrumentation, and industrial systems.
• Proficiency in conduit bending, routing, and installation for industrial applications.
• Experience pulling, routing, and terminating electrical wiring, including power, control, and signal circuits.
• Knowledge of electrical safety procedures, standards, and industry best practices.
• Practical skills in electrical installation, troubleshooting, and repair for both low-voltage and high-voltage systems.
• Experience working with cable management, wiring organization, and proper termination techniques.
• Ability to follow detailed verbal and written instructions and complete tasks with accuracy and consistency.

• Experience working with compressor packages or similar industrial equipment.
• Basic welding experience for installing conduit supports and strut systems.
• Familiarity with multiple wiring types, including control, signal, and power wiring, in industrial environments.
• Comfort working with a variety of electrical tools, equipment, and test instruments in a shop setting.

This position is based in a shop environment in Boardman, OH. The role follows a first-shift schedule, typically Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with possible Saturdays as needed and overtime hours from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. You will work around industrial equipment and compressor systems, regularly handling conduit, wiring, and electrical components for both low-voltage and high-voltage applications. The work involves using standard electrical tools, conduit benders, and welding equipment for strut and support installation. Candidates should be prepared for hands-on, physical work in an industrial shop setting and comfortable participating in a plant tour as part of the interview process.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Youngstown, OH.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Youngstown,OH.
