Senior Scientist, Analytical Development @ LNP Drug Delivery CDMO in the Greater Boston Area Full time, permanent, onsite Join an innovative drug development organization specializing in advanced drug delivery technologies for pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing analytical development team supporting the development of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs), nanoparticles, and other complex drug delivery platforms from early-stage development through client delivery. As a Senior Scientist, Analytical Development , you will lead analytical method development, testing, troubleshooting, and client‑facing scientific activities while working on multiple high‑impact projects. This position offers significant technical ownership, opportunities to mentor junior scientists, and close collaboration with cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced environment. This is a full‑time, permanent, fully onsite position based in Middlesex County just outside of Boston. Job Duties Lead analytical method development, validation, and transfer activities for complex drug delivery systems, with a strong focus on lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) and nucleic acid‑based therapeutics. Perform and oversee analytical testing using techniques including RiboGreen assays, particle size analysis, API and lipid quantitation, dissolution/in vitro release, and related characterization methods while troubleshooting analytical challenges. Analyze, interpret, and present scientific data to internal stakeholders and external clients while preparing technical reports, SOPs, analytical methods, and study documentation. Partner directly with clients to understand project objectives, recommend analytical strategies, manage project deliverables, and ensure successful execution across multiple programs. Mentor junior scientists, oversee laboratory activities, conduct performance evaluations, and contribute to a collaborative, high‑performing analytical development team. Job Requirements BS, MS, or PhD in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacy, or a related scientific discipline. Candidates with advanced degrees may qualify with fewer years of experience, while a PhD or an MS with significant industry experience is preferred. Hands‑on experience developing analytical methods for lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulations, including targeted LNP platforms, with demonstrated expertise using RiboGreen assays. Strong background in analytical method development, validation, troubleshooting, and characterization techniques for complex drug delivery systems, including HPLC, dissolution/in vitro release testing, particle sizing, and nucleic acid analysis. Excellent communication and project management skills, with experience presenting technical data and working directly with pharmaceutical or biotechnology clients. Proven ability to work independently in a laboratory environment while mentoring junior team members and collaborating across cross‑functional scientific teams.
