About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN license Certifications: BLS certification Must-Have: Med/Surg experience, ability to prioritize care, multitask, start IVs, basic wound care, maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes. Description: Provide attentive and compassionate care to patients and family members. Utilize bedside shift report to enhance communication and patient involvement. Make personal connections with patients and include them and family members in their plan of care. Work in a unit with a patient ratio of 6:1. Support available from unit secretaries and technicians on both day and night shifts. Familiarity with equipment such as IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse ox machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanners, and iMobile communication technology is required. Document using the Meditech system. Follow unit specific policies and guidelines. Maintain a dress code of navy scrubs, tops, and bottoms. Expected to float as per unit policy when necessary.
