Position Summary

The University of New Mexico Department of Neurology seeks a board certified, or board eligible Neurologist to join our Multiple Sclerosis/ Neuroimmunology team. The MS faculty will be part of a care team that manages MS, NMO, and other neuroimmune disorders in the outpatient clinic. The MS division is staffed with a full time RN, MA, PA, PharmD, Pharm tech and patient care coordinator to support patients and faculty.

We have a robust clinical trials program and are currently enrolling in several cutting-edge clinical trials for MS drugs. Protected time for participation in clinical trials is offered to interested faculty, and we have a full-time study coordinator support. Time is also available to do independent research in neuroimaging, immunology, epidemiology, genetics or other areas of interest. The MS research program is housed in a standalone outpatient facility with a dedicated 3T research MRI, a MEG scanner, and wet lab space with a 7T animal MRI with PET coils. As an academic institution, additional time may be available for faculty interested in additional leadership and teaching responsibilities.

It is ideal for outdoor activities and sports all year-round including running, hiking, biking and skiing. Albuquerque is 1 hour from Santa Fe, NM and 2.5 hours from Taos, NM, both world famous for their art and culture. We have excellent local cuisine, breathtaking sunsets, numerous cultural and historic sites, lakes, rivers, deserts and mountains.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• MD Degree or equivalent
• Board certified/board eligible inNeurology
• Completed Neuroimmunologyfellowship training by start date
• Eligible for Medical licensure inthe state of New Mexico
• Eligible to work in the US
