Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med Surg/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years current experience in Med Surg/Telemetry License: Active state or compact license required Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Current Med Surg/Telemetry experience - Ability to float within the scope of practice - Availability to work every other weekend - Compliance with flu vaccine requirement Description: This is a 13-week contract position. Extension will not be approved. Only local candidates will be accepted. Candidates must live within 75 miles of the facility. 1:5 to 1:6 patient ratios are expected. Experience with Meditech EMR is preferred. Float is required within the scope of practice. Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated. Medical and religious exemptions for the flu vaccine will be approved on a case-by-case basis. It is important to note that all facilities work a schedule of 36/48 over a two-week pay period unless otherwise indicated. Ratios may fluctuate based on census and other factors. Orientation is bi-weekly. A driver’s license is required for submission, and the address must match the permanent address. Candidates should not submit to more than one job at a time. Two references are required: one from a charge nurse or higher and one from a supervisor. Both references must be completed within the last year. A copy of required certifications is necessary for submission. Candidates must be willing to accept an average of 84 hours over two weeks, typically consisting of three 12-hour shifts one week and four 12-hour shifts the following week. Candidates must present any requests for time off upfront, and no changes will be accepted after submission. Candidates will be expected to work either a major or minor holiday. Pairs of travelers may be accepted, but they will not be placed on the same shift or unit. Submission must include any license issues or background check concerns upfront. After one year of work, travelers must take a minimum six-month break before being eligible to return.
