RRT Respiratory Therapist

Location: Portland, ME

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Job Description: The RRT Respiratory Therapist plays a crucial role in the Respiratory Therapy department, providing care for patients in a variety of settings, including acute and critical care. This position requires a commitment to working every other weekend and may involve participating in the call rotation as needed by the department.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver respiratory care to patients, including adults and pediatric patients in acute care settings.
• Administer respiratory therapy treatments in accordance with established protocols.
• Monitor and assess patient response to treatments and make necessary adjustments.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care.
• Maintain equipment and ensure proper functioning of all respiratory therapy devices.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred; NRP certification for NICU required.
• Experience in a tertiary, teaching hospital environment and familiarity with level 1 trauma cases preferred.
• Ability to float as needed in NICU/PICU, acute care pediatrics, and emergency departments.
