Details ~20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU (MICU) within a 400+ bed community hospital designated as a Level III Trauma Center ~ Adult patient population including diagnoses such as substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock ~ Attendings and residents are present in the ICU 24 hours/day ~ RN-to-patient ratio is 1:1 or 1:2 in the ICU; ratio increases to 1:4 or 1:5 when floating to Med/Surg units ~ Night shift: 19:00–07:30, 36 hours per week ~ Every other weekend (EOW) required ~ Floating required, primarily to Medical/Surgical units ~ EMR: Epic ~13-week assignment Requirements ~ Active MA RN license required — no pending or conditional licenses accepted ~ AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required (AHA only; Red Cross not accepted at this facility) ~2+ years of continuous adult MICU experience required, preferably in a single location ~ Telemetry strip reading competency required ~2 professional references required for consideration ~ Flu vaccine required; no religious or medical exemptions are accepted Additional Information Provide critical care nursing to a diverse adult ICU population with high-acuity and complex medical needs Floating to Med/Surg units is required and may involve caring for up to 4–5 patients Candidates with a permanent residence within 60 miles of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston are considered local and are subject to a reduced pay rate On-site parking is available at this location at no cost Time keeping system: UKG/Kronos American Traveler Job ID #P-725421.
