Dental Assistant

Dental Assistant

Supports the dentist in delivering primary dental care, prepares equipment and workplace for use, and contributes to a supportive atmosphere for dental patients. Uses chairside, four-handed dentistry techniques.

Hourly Rate: $ 20.00 - $25.00 based off experience

Essential functions of the job include preparing the treatment room, patient, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with dental standards.

Major areas of responsibility include preparing office and treatment areas each day, prescreening patient needs and educating patients on general oral healthcare, obtaining and managing accurate patient records, educating patients on treatment plan actions, reviewing postoperative instructions, performing pre/post treatment, set-up/clean-up procedures, preparing patients for dental procedures, assisting dentist at chairside, maintaining dental facility, treatment areas, equipment and instruments, maintaining dental supplies, strictly following safety and infection control standards, taking quality radiographs, providing excellent customer service, demonstrating unconditional positive regard to clients, striving for continuous growth and development of cultural competency.

Education/Licensure includes a high school diploma (or equivalent), graduate of an accredited Dental Assisting School or two years of dental experience in general dentistry, and certification in Dental Radiology by the Ohio State Dental Board.

Knowledge, skills, abilities and other qualifications include CPR certification (training can be provided upon hire), commitment to preventive dental care, knowledge/interest in providing care to the diverse patient population, written and oral bilingual fluency in the language spoken by our patient population, working knowledge of Dentrix, and working knowledge of Epic is a plus.

Background check and reference checks will be conducted. Hours may vary, including working some evenings and weekends based on workload.
