Role Description The Senior Tax Accountant is a full-time, on-site position based in Baton Rouge, LA. This role is responsible for managing complex tax preparation and review for individuals, corporations, and partnerships, ensuring accurate and timely filing in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing tax work prepared by other team members, researching tax issues, interpreting tax law changes, and advising clients on tax planning strategies. The Senior Tax Accountant will also assist in preparing and analyzing financial statements, support accounting processes, and collaborate with partners and staff to enhance client service delivery. Additional tasks may include responding to tax notices, participating in client meetings, and contributing to process improvements and best practices within the firm. Qualifications Strong tax expertise, including Tax Preparation and Tax Compliance skills. Ability to interpret and apply Tax regulations to a variety of client situations. Proficiency in Accounting principles and preparation/review of Financial Statements. Relevant experience in public accounting or tax advisory at a senior or advanced level. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification or progress toward CPA strongly preferred. Advanced knowledge of tax software and accounting systems, with strong Excel skills. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities, with high attention to detail. Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients and colleagues.
