Position: Emergency Medical Technician – EMT-Basic
Employment Type: Part-Time
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
Location: Rock Hill, New York

POSITION OVERVIEW

Rock Hill Volunteer Ambulance Corps is seeking dependable, professional, and patient-focused New York State Certified EMT-Basics to join our paid EMS staff.

The EMT will provide emergency medical care and ambulance transportation to patients throughout our service area while maintaining a high standard of professionalism, patient care, documentation, safety, and operational readiness.

We are looking for EMTs who take pride in providing quality patient care and who are willing to become an active and dependable member of our EMS team.

AVAILABLE SCHEDULES

Option 1 — Three-Day Schedule

• 3 days per week
• Approximately 36 hours per week
• $20.00 per hour

Option 2 — Two-Day Schedule

• 2 days per week
• 24+ hours per week
• $20.00 per hour

Schedules will be established based on operational needs and employee availability.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The EMT-Basic will:

• Respond to emergency and non-emergency ambulance calls.
• Provide appropriate emergency medical care within NYS EMT-Basic scope of practice.
• Complete accurate and timely patient care reports and other required documentation.
• Maintain ambulance equipment, medical supplies, and medications in a state of readiness.
• Perform routine ambulance and equipment checks.
• Follow Rock Hill Volunteer Ambulance Corps policies and procedures.
• Follow NYS EMS regulations, protocols, and applicable medical direction.
• Maintain professional conduct with patients, families, coworkers, other agencies, hospitals, and the public.
• Participate in training, continuing education, quality assurance/quality improvement activities, and required staff meetings as applicable.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient and organizational information.
• Assist with station duties and operational readiness when not assigned to a call.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must:

• Hold a current New York State EMT certification .
• One year experience being an EMT
• Possess a valid driver's license.
• Be able to safely perform the physical requirements of the position.
• Be able to work independently and as part of an EMS team.
• Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
• Successfully complete any required background, driving record, and employment screening.
• Must be 18 years or older
• CPR certified 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous ambulance/EMS experience.
• Experience with electronic patient care reporting systems.
• Experience with I-Gel airway management.
• CPAP experience.
• Glucometer experience.
• EVOC or emergency vehicle driving experience.
• Previous experience working in a paid EMS environment.

COMPENSATION

Starting Pay: $20.00 per hour

3 days / approximately 36 hours per week

or

2 days / 24+ hours per week

Additional opportunities may be available based on staffing needs and employee availability.
