Since 1921 MB HAYNES Corporation in Asheville NC has provided solid stable careers for many good people As market leaders we have enjoyed tremendous growth through the years and we are poised for even greater growth in the future We believe in our tag line Quality Commitment & Character all day every day If you are looking for a professional environment to both further your career and be a part of something great become a member of our 100 Employee Owned MB HAYNES family Position Summary Maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipmentEnsures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines motors pneumatic tools conveyor systems and production machines; following diagrams sketches operations manuals manufacturers instructions and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctionsLocates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instrumentsRemoves defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists cranes and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of partsDetermines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules calipers micrometers and other measuring instrumentsAdjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools levels plumb bobs and straightedgesControls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring complianceFabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipmentMaintains equipment parts and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment parts and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receiptConserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job resultsProvides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requestsPrepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting analyzing and summarizing information and trendsMaintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networksMaintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions irregularities and continuing needsMaintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures rules and regulationsContributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed Requirements 5 Years experience preferred Must pass employer performance test or standard tests to meet certification standards of governmental agencies or professional & technical associations Must pass criminal background check and pre employment drug screening Must have a positive and cooperative attitude and excellent attendance Must be able to get along with fellow workers other tradesmen on the job site inspectors customers and the public Must be able to carry up to 50 pounds Properly use safety equipment and personal protective equipment Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of all types of hand tools Physical Requirements and Working Conditions The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions Work is primarily performed both indoor and outdoor environments in allextreme weather conditionsThis position requires physical activity including extended periods of standing and walking frequent sitting kneeling bending crouching reaching stooping and climbingRequires the ability to frequently lift andor carry materials andor supplies and other materials weighing up to 50 lbs Occasional lifting andor carrying of materials andor supplies weighing up to 100 lbs Benefits ESOP Employee Stock Ownership Plan 401k Savings Plan Health Insurance Dental Insurance Benefit Conversion at Termination
