Job Title: Billing & Collections Specialist (Healthcare) Type: Temp to Hire Pay Rate: $25 Start Date: ASAP Benefits: For eligible candidates we offer: Full medical, dental and vision insurance as well as 401K Dallas, TX 75201 (Uptown Area) Hybrid Schedule (TBD) Healthcare industry experience required Job Overview We are seeking a Billing & Collections Specialist to support billing operations, reimbursement activities, and accounts receivable management for a healthcare organization. This role will work closely with patients, insurance carriers, and internal departments to resolve billing issues, reduce outstanding balances, and ensure timely payment collection. Responsibilities Submit and review claims for commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and patient billing information Monitor aging reports and follow up on unpaid, underpaid, and denied claims Research billing discrepancies and submit corrected claims and appeals Contact patients regarding outstanding balances and payment arrangements Post and reconcile payments, adjustments, and credits Review EOBs and remittance advice to ensure accurate reimbursement Work with coding, patient access, and clinical teams to resolve claim issues Maintain accurate account documentation and collection activity notes Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and payer guidelines Qualifications 3+ years of healthcare billing, collections, or accounts receivable experience Healthcare industry experience required Experience working with commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid claims Knowledge of denials management, appeals, and reimbursement processes Familiarity with medical terminology Experience using EHR systems and healthcare billing software Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills High school diploma or equivalent required Preferred Experience Revenue Cycle Management Medical Accounts Receivable Insurance Claims Follow-Up Healthcare Collections Denials Resolution Schedule Monday-Friday Hybrid schedule (to be determined) If you have healthcare billing and collections experience and enjoy resolving account issues while improving reimbursement outcomes, we'd love to hear from you.
